Get Your Jewellery Verified at IDT

These terms apply to enquiries made through the jewellery verification landing page and to the subsequent submission of jewellery, diamonds or gemstones at an IDT laboratory.

1. Enquiry and Appointment

Submitting the online form is an enquiry only. It does not create an appointment, confirm acceptance of an item, or guarantee that a particular testing or reporting service is suitable. An IDT representative may contact the customer to understand the requirement and explain the available service.

2. Paid Laboratory Services

Detailed jewellery, diamond and gemstone testing, grading, identification and reporting are paid services. Charges depend on the item, complexity, quantity and selected service. Applicable charges should be confirmed with the relevant IDT laboratory before submission.

3. Free Screening

Where offered, free screening is a preliminary service intended to indicate whether an item may require further examination. Screening is not a grading report, identification report, valuation, guarantee or certificate. Conclusive findings may require physical laboratory testing and a paid report.

4. Submission and Condition of the Item

• The customer must disclose any known treatment, repair, damage, prior testing, alteration or special handling requirement.
• IDT may inspect the item before acceptance and may decline an item that cannot be safely or appropriately tested.
• Mounted jewellery may limit the tests, measurements or conclusions that can be provided without removing a stone.
• The customer is responsible for reviewing the submission receipt and item description at the time of handover.

5. Turnaround Time

Turnaround time depends on the item, service, testing requirements and laboratory workload. Any estimated completion date is indicative and may change if additional examination is required.

6. Findings and Reports

Laboratory findings apply only to the submitted item in the condition in which it was examined and to the scope of the selected service. A report is not a monetary valuation, ownership certificate, warranty, purchase recommendation or guarantee of future value.

7. Collection and Authorisation

The item and report will be released in accordance with the laboratory’s collection procedure. IDT may require the submission receipt, valid identification and written authorisation where collection is made by another person.

8. Customer Information

Information provided through the form or during submission may be used to contact the customer, process the request, maintain laboratory records, comply with legal requirements and prevent fraud. Customers should provide accurate and current details.

9. Prohibited or Suspicious Items

IDT may refuse, retain or report an item where required by applicable law, regulatory direction, law-enforcement request, suspected fraud, disputed ownership or inadequate documentation.

10. Updates

IDT may update these terms or apply additional laboratory-specific submission conditions. The applicable terms are those communicated or displayed at the time the item is accepted.
